This B-Crafty’s sand creation has a “cherry on top”! Wrapping up a series of B-Crafty’s early years of sand sculptures.
Issue #35
Occasion: Beach Time
Category: Sand Sculpting
Materials Needed:
- Sandy beach
- Bucket and shovel
- Red beach ball
- Imagination
Instructions:
This sculpture idea began with the “cherry on top”. Using the red beach ball as a starting point the plan of building a huge banana split evolved. The best way to build a sand sculpture is to build a big pile of sand mixed constantly with water. Then carve into the pile to make your sculpture. This sculpture required three large piles for the scoops of ice cream. The toppings and the side bananas were added with wet sand after the plies were set. The bowl was formed after everything else. First and foremost, have fun!
B-Crafty Tip: The background of the sculpture make for a great background for a Christmas or holiday card so snap away when your are finished sculpting.
