In 2002, with the TV show Survivor growing in popularity, B-Crafty and her boys built in the OCNJ sand sculpting contest the logo for “Survivor Ocean City: Out-Swim, Out-Sun and Out-Spend”. Great memories and fun from that day, proving you can build just about anything in the sand.

Issue #92
Occasion: Beach Time
Category: Sand Sculpting
Materials Needed:
- Sandy beach
- Bucket and shovel
- Orange, blue and green colored Jell-O
- Flour
- Beach grass
- Black construction cut out letter
- Toothpicks

Instructions:
The first task for the building this one is to make a huge pile of sand to be the surface for the Survivor logo. Once the face of the pile is complete, start adding the detail. Begin at the top and work your way. Use the colored Jell-O and flour at the end to color the various elelments on the logo. The construction paper letters are added last so that they do not get wet from the sand and air. The letters are set in place with toothpicks.
B-Crafty Tip: B-Crafty added the tiki torches to mark off the area they were building in and to also add some tropic atmosphere.
