Crayon Wall Art

Here’s the “Crayon Wall Art”, an idea B-Crafty has repeated two times; once in her son’s bedroom and then again in her craft room. The best part about this craft is that you can make it as big or as small as your room can handle.

Issue #117

Occasion: Room Makeover

Category: Wall Art

Materials:

  • Sheet of white poster board
  • Acrylic paints; red, yellow, blue and green (or any colors)

Instructions:

  • Sketch the crayon shape onto the poster board and cut it out
  • On another piece of poster board, cut out an oval shape to replicate the label of the crayon and cut out the two wavy lines that are at both ends of the crayon
  • Place the crayon shaped stencil on the wall and outline it
  • Place the oval and wavy line stencils over the outlined crayon and draw them in
  • Paint the crayons leaving out the oval and the two rectangle  strips where the wavy lines are placed
  • Add the lines, dots or dashed coming out of the crayons with the coordination paint colors (these lines can go around the entire room not just on one wall)

B-Crafty Tip: You can also make it look like the crayon has written your child’s name rather then just adding the lines, dots and dashes
