Sand Piece of Cake

B-Crafty likes to keep her birthday time going so she shares a sand sculpture she build in 2016 on the beaches of OCNJ. The colors of the cake and icing are done with flour (for the cake portion) and a packet of red Jell-O (for the icing). This is a fun one to try your self for any beach celebration

Issue #132

Occasion: Beach Time

Category: Sand Sculpting

Materials Needed:

  • Sandy beach
  • Bucket and shovel
  • Red colored Jell-O packet
  • Flour
  • Imagination

Instructions:

  • The first task for the building this one is to make a pile of sand to higher in the back and lower in the front to make the angled piece of cake
  • Shape the piece of cake before you sculpt the icing or middle layer
  • Once the cake is formed use wet sand to build the icing
  • After you are finished, color the cake with the flour, then sprinkle the packet of the dry Jell-O over the icing areas

B-Crafty Tip: B-Crafty added a “Cake by the Ocean” sign as that song was popular at the time. It is fun to add a message on a sign when you build.
