Beehive Place Card Holder

Here’s a new idea that B-Crafty made for her daughter-in-law to “BEE”’s Bridal Shower; the “Beehive Place Card Holder”. This craft can be adapted to any Bride-to-BEE or Mom-to-BEE shower themes.

Issue #133

Occasion: Bridal Shower

Category: Table Favor

Materials:

  • One 2 oz mini SOLO cup
  • Approximately 8 ft of jute twine 1/8 inch/3mm DO NOT PRECUT
  • Three small wooden bees
  • Small circle of black felt
  • One shish-ka-bob wooden skewer
  • Tag for the name card
  • Hot glue (lots)

Instructions:

  • Poke a small hole with a needle through the middle of the bottom of the cup
  • Slowly push a wooden skewer through the hole as this will be what you attach the name card to
  • With the hot glue affix the end of the jute twine at the open end of the cup and then begin to wrap the twine around the cup gluing as you go.
  • To avoid melting through the plastic cup, after you get a row of the twine in place, place the glue for each new row on the twine on the row below
  • Work the twine around the cup and when you get to the top gradually wrap it into the center to form the top of the hive
  • Cut a small circle out of the felt and glue it on the hive
  • Add the wooden bees around the hive
  • Make the name cards and attach them to the wooden skewer
