Robot Valentine

You’ll be “nuts and bolts” about this B-Crafty idea, “Robot Valentine”. B-Crafty simply wrapped a mini box of raisins and added a few touches for this clever and unique Valentine.

Materials:

  • Mini box of raisins (or any small box of candy)
  • Aluminum foil piece measuring 4 ½ X 2 ¾
  • Clear scotch tape or packaging tape
  • Piece of light weight cardboard to cut the mouth stencil
  • Black Sharpie
  • Two wiggle eyes (10 mm)
  • Red or pink pipe cleaner  (piece cut 3 ½ inches
  • Heart sticker or heart jewel stick on (red or pink)
  • Two Heart shaped beads (red or pink)
  • Hot Glue
  • Slip of white paper with this message “I am NUTS & BOLTS about you!”
  • Cellophane bag and Valentine ribbon (optional)

Instructions:

  • Wrap the raisin box in the piece of aluminum like you would wrap a package securing it with clear tape
  • Cut the cardboard mouth stencil the 1 7/8 wide by 1 inch high. The mouth line looks like this   “`\_________/“`
  • Line the mouth stencil up with the edges of the wrapped box and draw the mouth line with the Sharpie
  • Affix the two eyes with the hot glue
  • Affix the beads on each side of the box near the top
  • Bend the pipe cleaner with a ¼ base to start then like an antennae making a heart shape at the top
  • With glue affix the sticker or jewel on the top of the pipe cleaner heart shape
  • Affix pipe cleaner onto the top of the wrapped box
  • Place the robot with the Valentine message in the cellophane bag and tie with a festive ribbon

B-Crafty Tip: When you are drawing the mouth by tracing the edge of the mouth stencil, draw from the middle out otherwise the aluminum foil with crease and bubble.
