Following on the heels of the Phillies’ Phanatic and the Eagles’ Logo, B-Crafty brings you the “Sand Flyers’ Gritty”. Her family built this the summer of 2019 just as Gritty made his debut. A family favorite for sure!

Occasion: Beach Time

Materials Needed:
- Sandy beach
- Bucket and shovel
- Orange Jell-O packets
- 2 large scallop shells for Gritty’s eyes
- Half of a clam shell for Gritty’s mouth
- Acrylic paints in various colors: orange, black, white and pink
- Flour
Instructions:
- Before going to the beach, paint the scallop shells to resemble Gritty’s eyes with the orange, black and white paint
- Also paint the half clam shell with the pink paint for his tongue
- Build a pile of sand large enough for all of Gritty
- By relying on a picture or figurine of Gritty, sculpt him head to toe
- For the fur of Gritty, use the sand drip method
- Dust his face, arms and legs with the orange Jell-O.
- For the sculpted Flyers’ logo his shirt use the flour to highlight the white parts
