Halloween Placemat

B-Crafty goes retro and updates a previous craft idea by offering the  “Halloween Placemat”. This will help decorate your table for Trick or Treat season and become a fun keepsake.

Issue #196

Occasion: Halloween

Category: Table Décor/Keepsake

Materials:

  • Clear 12” wide Contact Paper (need 1 yard for each placemat)
  • 10-12 Halloween cards
  • An oval placemat to use as a model (12 “ wide by 17” long)

Instructions:

  • Using the oval placemat as a model, trace the outline on the clear contact paper and cut out. Do this two times as you need two pieces of contact paper for each Halloween placemat
  • Collect over time the Halloween card your child receives or purchase the cards. You need approximately 10-12 card
  • Remove the backing on one of the pieces of contact paper
  • Place the Halloween cards in a collage on the sticky side of the contact paper. (Don’t worry if they go over the edge a bit as you will trim that at the end)
  • Once the collage is complete, remove the backing of the other piece of contact paper and carefully place the sticky side down on top of the Halloween cards, smoothing out all the bubbles.
  • Finish by trimming any cards that are protruding over the edge of the contact paper

B-Crafty Tip: Save the placemats and use every year, for either Halloween night of the week/month leading up the Halloween.
