Issue #206

Occasion: Halloween

Category: Table Favor/Treat

Materials:

  • Piece of burlap 6” wide ribbon
  • 2 large goggle eyes
  • Two foot long pieces of raffia
  • Small piece of orange foam
  • Black puff paint
  • Hot glue
  • Tacky glue
  • Mini size wrapped candies

Instructions:

  • Cut the 6” piece from the burlap and fold it in half with the seamed edge of the burlap at the top and bottom
  • Hot glue the bottom and side together
  • With the black puff/fabric paint, paint the mouth and let it dry thoroughly
  • Cut a small (1/2”) triangle out of the orange foam for the nose
  • Hot glue the mouth in place
  • With Tacky glue, affix the 2 eyes on
  • Slide two pieces of wrapped candy into the pouch.
  • Tie the top with a piece of raffia making a bow
  • With the other piece of raffia tie a single bow and with the hot glue, affix in to the bottom of the pouch

B-Crafty Tip: Paint the mouth a little crooked as it gives a whimsical feel to the scarecrow. Also make sure the puff paint does not go through the front of the burlap and stick to the back. (If it does stick you can gently pull it apart)
