
With the school year about to begin B-Crafty shares her Back-to-School Posts which are a pencil and blackboard. It’s ways a sure sign the first day of school is just around the corner when these show up out front of B-Crafty’s house.

Occasion: Back-to-School

Materials Needed:
- 1 – wooden boards that measure 5 ½ inches wide x 60 inches tall x ¾ inch thick
- 1 – wooden plywood sheet measuring 19 inches wide X 22 inches tall
- 30 inch long wooden rod (like an old rake handle) attached to back of plywood piece for the support piece.
- White primer paint for wood
- Acrylic paints in various colors including; For the pencil – yellow, pink, silver, and dark green, and For the blackboard: black, brown, white, red, and royal blue.

Instructions:
With a jigsaw, for the pencil cut the bottom of the long board in a “V” shape so it can be pushed into the ground, then cut the top two corners slight off to make the eraser end. To make the blackboard cut all the corners off to make rounded.
Paint both boards with white primer paint on both sides. Paint the pencil yellow and the eraser top pink with the silver base. Add the markings on the side of the pencil with the dark green paint. For the blackboard paint the face black and the frame brown. Add what every markings on the board that you want white, red and blue paints; math facts, spelling words, etc.
Once painting is completed, attached the wooden support piece to the blackboard and place in the ground to display at the start of the school year.
